SB 14 -- PUBLIC OFFICE COMPENSATION

SPONSOR:  DePasco (Johnson, 47)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 16 to 0.

This bill increases the maximum annual salary for police officers
in Kansas City.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will allow salary
increases for the Kansas City Police Department.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Wheeler; and Kansas City.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
